INSTRUCTIONS FOR TAKING MEASUREMENTS
1.Horns length
Measured from the base of the sheath, following the outer curvature to the end of the horn.
2-3-4. Horn perimeter
Measured at the thickest section of the first, second and third of the length of each horn.
5. Wingspan
The maximum external span of the trophy, measured in slide. The distance between tips is not accepted as a span.
6. Beauty
Color | Points |
– Clear | 1 |
– Brown | 2 |
– Black | 3 |
Horn Rings | Points |
– Apart | 1 |
– Averaged | 2 |
– Tight | 3 |
7. Curvature
The characteristic development of the horns is snail-shaped; Seen in profile, they should form a circle that closes over the animal’s eye. Depending on the maximum diameter of the curve of the horns, trophies will be rewarded up to 5 points, as follows:
Diameter | Points |
20 cm. | 0 |
21 cm. | 1 |
22-23 cm. | 2 |
24-26 cm. | 3 |
27-29 cm. | 4 |
30 and more cm | 5 |
8. Penalty
Trophies will be penalized up to 2 points
– whose horns are directed towards the neck or jaw of the animal
– asymmetrical
Trophies whose curvatures are too tight are penalized up to 3 points. This circumstance is determined based on the quotient resulting from dividing the span of the antler by the separation distance between the tips, both taken with a slider, penalizing as follows:
– ratio from 2.5 to 5.69
– ratio from 2.7 to 2.89
– ratio of 2.9 and more
THEY WILL NOT BE OFFICIALLY APPROVED
– Trophies with antlers that are too open, considering them atypical due to hybridization. For these purposes, the opening of the antler is considered abnormal when the quotient resulting from dividing the wingspan by the separation distance between tips is less than 0.7.
