INSTRUCTIONS FOR TAKING MEASUREMENTS
1 Antler length
Measurement following the outer curvature from root to end. If the tusk cannot be separated from the butt plate, it is measured from it and the result can be increased up to 5 mm.
2. Width of the fangs
The maximum width measured in millimeters, with an appreciation of tenths of a millimeter, taken with a caliper in the thickest section. Abnormal excrescences are not measured.
3-4. Perimeter of the grinders
Measured at the thickest section. Abnormal excrescences are not measured. The measuring tape should cover the notches.
5. Beauty
Up to a maximum of 2 points will be awarded to the fangs and up to three points to the grinders.
Fangs
Each one is valued separately. Up to 1 point will be awarded for each tusk if it has the following characteristics:
– Dark brown to black color on the outside.
– Regularity of the curvature at the top.
– Size of the sharpened surface.
– Sharp tips.
– Curvature with an arc that reaches 157.5º.
Grinders
It is valued separately as follows: | Points |

6. Penalty
From 0 to 10 points, for the following reasons: | Points |

– Difference in length, width and shape between the fangs | Until 3 |
– Difference in length and shape between grinders | Until 3 |
– Disproportion between grinders and fangs | Until 1 |
